A warm spot by the fire

So, we started using our wood burner insert in our fireplace. Matt built a cozy fire last night and it heated up our living room so well. When we went to bed last night, the temperature in the living room across the room from the fireplace was 75! Fireplaces are messy and dirty, but there is something so comforting about a fire in the fireplace. :)

SO, I got up early this morning to do a little computer work, and I decided that I should try to hone in on my fire building skills. I just can't do it... my fire keeps going out. I think I do it just like Matt did, but it's not just like Matt's.. Oh well.. I guess I'll get the hang of it one day. There is a good reason why there is man's work and woman's work sometimes.. at least as far as I am concerned! :)

It's almost 9am and my child is STILL sleeping. He hasn't taken a nap in over a week I think, so he's probably playing catch up with his sleep. I should be busy proofing client pics right now, but instead I just sit here and peruse the internet... I'll get started on them soon enough!

I should close and find some yummy breakfast to eat. I think maybe tomorrow morning it will be a baked oatmeal day! :) This morning will just be cereal...

Back to Blogging!!

Yup, guilty.. blog neglect... again... I'm back to update the throngs of people who come to my blog to check out what is going on in my life... After a busy couple weeks, I do have a short respite where I have nothing on my plate for a few days! How nice!

The last week of September, Aiden and I spent time with my parents and nephew at the beach. The weather was pretty much perfect, and we all had a nice time, for the most part. Our hotel room wasn't the best, but it was a place to sleep and we managed to live there for 5 days without too much trauma ;). The kids had fun and that's what counts when you take the kids along! I know I posted one picture from the beach on my photoblog, but there are more that need to be posted.

Then this past weekend I had 3 photo sessions scheduled... two for Friday, and one on Sunday. The one Sunday did not transpire because the weather was yucky, so it is rescheduled. The two on Friday I struggled, but I did get some nice pictures for certain. I will get a few of them posted on my photoblog too.

Saturday Aiden and I met up with a friend and her daughter in Charlotte, for a haircut for Aiden at Doolittles and pizza and fun at Chuck E. Cheese's. We had a nice time. It's always fun getting together with Christy and Miss Brit Brit!

The weather is going to cool down this week, at least according to The Weather Channel. We will reach 82 tomorrow and by the end of the week our high will only be in the 50's! BRRRR!!!

Time to close, I hear a little two year old in his room who has just awoken from a night of peaceful slubmer... time to put on the Mommy hat!

Oh no!! The green beans are mixing with the mashed potatoes!!!!

My lovely Canuck friend Deanna tagged me.. SO, here I am writing 5 WEIRD things about myself.. should be easy.. I'm pretty weird!

  1. My food cannot touch on my plate. Bread must stay away from any sort of liquid.. soggy bread is a definite no-no for me. And the old excuse of 'it all touches in your stomach' doesn't work on me. My stomach doesn't have a tongue to taste it! YUCK!
  2. I cannot sleep without a blanket pulled up over my shoulders. Even my pj clad shoulders need a blanket over them.
  3. I go nuts if I lose a part of something, e.g. the mate for a sock, a part of Aiden's toys, etc.. I cannot sleep until all parts are found!
  4. I cannot stand the sound of styrofoam being pulled out of a cardboard box. I can handle fingernails on a chalkboard better!
  5. I'm a packrat. I save everything. I got that from my mom, and every so often I have to sit down and have an intervention with myself and throw things away. I'm even a packrat on the computer.. I save blurry pictures I've taken of my son, where you can't even tell that a person is in the picture... I have issues!
OK.. I'd tag 5 folks, but I don't know that many people.. ;)
